Debenham: Car Door Leaves Cyclist With Head Injuries

An elderly man is in hospital with serious head injuries after falling from his bike after being in collision with a stationary car.


The collision happened at approximately 10.55am on Tuesday 17 September in High Street, Debenham.

The driver of a blue Rover car parked in the street (opposite The Angel Public House) opened his car door in the path of a pedal cyclist who was knocked to the ground.

The 75 year old man was initially taken to West Suffolk Hospital to be treated for his injuries but has since been transferred to Addenbrookes for further treatment for serious head injuries.

Police are very keen to hear from anyone who was in the area who may have witnesses this collision calls should be made to Suffolk Police on 101 quoting event 151 of 17 September 2013..
