Ipswich: Police Need To Speak To Two People

Suffolk Police want to speak to two people after a man was pushed off a bus in Ipswich and suffered serious head injuries.

The incident took place yesterday evening, Thursday 13 December.

Following investigations into the incident including viewing CCTV footage and taking further witness statements, two people initially thought to have been involved in the assault are now being sought as witnesses.

A 26-year-old man from Ipswich was arrested this morning and taken to the Martlesham Police Investigation Centre where he remains.

The injured man had been travelling on an Ipswich Buses service on route 10. At around 6:05pm the bus stopped in Defoe Road near to the junction with Macauley Road and as he went to get off he was pushed, causing him to fall backwards and hit his head, leaving him unconscious.

The man, who is in his sixties, has been transferred to Addenbrookes where he remains today in a critical condition.

Police have seized the bus and are reviewing CCTV footage. Officers are also doing patrols in the area and speaking with local residents and continue to appeal for anyone with information to get in touch.
