A man's been jailed for 9 years for breaking into a home on the Chantry Estate and sexually assaulting a woman inside.
In June last year a woman was sexually assaulted after a break in at her home in Robin Drive.
Police arrested Hilland Matthews of Swallow Road, Ipswich in November and he was with sexual assault and trespassing with intent to commit a sexual offence.
He admitted all three offences in court in January and today he appeared again to be sentenced.
He's been given 9 years in jail.
Detective Inspector Kevin Hayward of the joint Norfolk and Suffolk Major Investigation Team said:
“Such offences are rare in Suffolk and it is clear from the manner in which this case has been investigated that Suffolk Police will work tirelessly to bring offenders for such crimes to justice.
“This was an awful attack within the victim’s home. It is hoped that the sentence passed today will bring some justice and closure to the victim of this offence.”
