Ipswich: Man Stabbed During Park Robbery

A man has been left in hospital after being stabbed during a robbery in Alexandra Park in Ipswich.

Police are appealing for information after he received stab wounds during the early hours of this morning, Tuesday 24 September.

The man, who is in his twenties, was taken to Ipswich Hospital with wounds to his hand, wrist and under his arm. The injuries are not thought to be life threatening though he currently remains in hospital.

Officers spoke with the victim who reported that he had been in Alexandra Park, Ipswich at around 1:30am when he was approached by two men who demanded property from him. The men then attacked him and stole cash and a mobile phone before leaving the area.

The first man is described as white, of large build, around 25-26 years old, approximately 5ft 9ins tall with short black hair and wearing blue jeans and a black zip-up jacket.

The second is described as white, of thin build, around 25-26 years old, wearing brown jeans and a white t-shirt with writing on the front.

The incident was reported to have occurred around the Grove Lane area of Alexandra Park but as yet officers have not been able to locate the scene.
