Ipswich: Taxi Driver Assaulted

A taxi driver's been assaulted after four people refused to pay the fare at the weekend.

A taxi driver picked up two men and two women from outside Liquid nightclub in Ipswich at approximately 4.40am on 07/10/12 and was requested to take them to Cambridge Drive. The taxi stopped outside the One Stop shop and all four passengers exited the vehicle. The driver got out and said he would call the police if they did not pay the fare. One of the men assaulted the driver, causing him to fall to the ground. The victim sustained grazing to his knee and elbow, and bruising to his face as a result of the incident.

The man who assaulted the driver was described as of mixed race, approximately 25-years-old, of a 'stocky' build, had a short beard and was wearing a hooded blue top and dark trousers.

One of the females was described as a white woman, approximately 36-years-old, of a slim build, with white hair and was wearing a white silk long-sleeved shirt and trousers.

The other female was described as a white woman, approximately 22-years-old, of a slim build, had shoulder length hair and was wearing a short-sleeved dress and dark trousers.
