Man Charged with Sex Assault after Break-In

A man is due in court today after being charged with harassment, sexual assault, and trespass with intent to commit a sexual offence.

Police were contacted shortly after 10am on Friday 15 July by a woman in her 20s who was reporting that a man had broken into her house on Hogarth Road several hours earlier that morning.

Later that day, detectives arrested Kyle Girling at his home address in the town and subsequently charged him with one count of harassment, one count of trespass with intent to commit a sexual offence and one count of sexual assault.

The 23-year-old unemployed man from Woodbridge Road was detained in police custody prior to his appearance at Ipswich Magistrates Court on Monday 18 July.
