People Evacuated From Flat After Fire
Firecrews had to evacuate people from a block of flats last night.
Around 20 firefighters were called to the flats on Stanley Street in Lowesoft just before 6pm last night. One woman had to be rescued by crews and was taken to the hospital. Four people also suffered from smoke inhalation.
It took crews just over an hour to get everything under control and people living in the flats were allowed to go back inside.
Meanwhile, around 20 Suffolk firefighters were also called out to put out a house fire last night.
They were called at around a quarter past midnight on The High Street in Brandon to a fire at a two storey building. Two people had to be given oxygen therapy by paramedics but no-one was hurt.
It took crews around two hours to put out.
