Red Lodge: Fire at Scrap Yard

Fire crews have been tackling a large fire this morning at a scrapyard at Red Lodge in Suffolk.

Crews got the call at around 4.19 this morning to the yard between Mildenhall and Newmarket.

Around ten cars were on fire near to some fuel storage tanks.

They managed to contain the fire to a large industrial skip, and used a crane on site to move cars away from the fire.

At 06:37 stop message was received stating excellent progress being made by crews on site and use of crane, industrial skip now empty, damping down in progress.
