A man from Sudbury's been named as one of the country's top tax criminals.

Paul O'Meara was jailed last year for his part in a plot to bring 20 million cigarettes into Felixstowe Port.

O'Meara was part of a gang which attempted to smuggle millions of cigarettes into the UK described as babies’ toys.

They were arrested after a covert surveillance operation caught them unloading over 10 million illicit cigarettes at a warehouse in Upminster.

The total duty evaded by the gang was estimated as £3.3 million.
