Suffolk: Teacher Found Guilty Of Sex Offences

A former teacher from a Suffolk High School's been found guilty of sex offences against underage girls.
Stephen Benson, 50, of Copdock, Suffolk, denied all charges but was found guilty by a jury of a total of nine counts of rape and a further 10 sex charges against three teenage girls.
He taught at Copleston High and as an athletics coach at Ipswich Harriers Athletics Club.
The offences happened over 20 years from 1989 to 2011.
The jury found him guilty on 15 counts on Wednesday including five of rape.
He returned to court today and was found guilty of four more counts of rape, and not guilty of two charges of rape.
He has been remanded in custody and will be sentenced next month.
