A33: Teenager Dies After Police Chase

The police watchdog is investigating a crash after a 19-year-old driver died during a police chase in Reading.

The Ford Fiesta was being pursued by officers for not stopping when it crashed into a central reservation on the A33 at around 11:25pm.

The man, who was the only one in the car, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Thames Valley Police referred the case to the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC).

The IPCC days the man's family have been told but he has not been formally identified yet. A post mortem examination still has to take place.

The A33 in Reading, between Rose Kiln Lane and Barclay Avenue, re-opened just after being shut for almost 15 hours.
