Headington: Cash Taken In Armed Robbery

Cash has been stolen in a suspected armed robbery at a bookmakers' in Oxford.
Two offenders entered Stan James in Roundway, Headington, at around 11.30am this morning (13/03)
They threatened a member of staff with what was believed to be a firearm and demanded money. The offenders ran away with a quantity of cash.
The first offender was a man about 5ft 3ins of slim to medium build, and was wearing a dark grey hooded top and dark grey jeans.He was carrying a yellow sports bag around his body.
The second offender was tall, and wearing a dark grey hooded top and black trousers. He was also wearing a bag across his body. Both were believed to be Asian men aged in their early twenties, both wore gloves and face coverings.
Investigating officer Det Sgt Mike West, from Oxford Force CID, said: “I am appealing to anyone with any information about this incident to contact police.
“If you were in the area at the time of the incident or noticed anyone acting suspiciously, please speak to an officer.”
The incident is not believed to be linked to any other robberies of business premises in the Oxford area at this stage. Uniformed officers are currently present in the area and if any member of the public has any concerns they can speak to an officer.
