Oxford: Armed Robbery

Police are investigating an armed robbery in Oxford involving a knife and hammer
We're told two men entered the newsagents in Cowley Road, Littlemore in Oxford at around 12.30pm on Sunday 23rd February 2014.
One of the men, armed with a large knife, demanded the shopkeeper hand over the contents of the till.
The shopkeeper suffered injuries to his arm and knee and received treatment for his injuries at the John Radcliffe Hospital.
Supt Christian Bunt, LPA Commander for Oxford, said: “We are following a number of active lines of inquiry and have had some good leads meaning that the investigation is progressing well.
“I would also like to reassure local businesses and residents we have a number of CID and uniformed officers working on this investigation. Additional patrols have been put in place in the local area and I would encourage any residents who have concerns to approach our officers with them.
“Anyone who believes they have information that can assist with our information should call the non-emergency number 101and ask for Oxford Force CID.”
Two men aged 23 and 27 have been arrested in connection with this incident and remain in custody.
