A new 12-bed community hospital for Bicester has been given the go-ahead with work likely to start in January 2013.
The new building, which will have NHS beds, physiotherapy and X-ray machines, is set to open in January the following year.
Kajima Mansel won the bid to develop the hospital. Development Manager Richard Coe told Heart they're pleased to have been selected.
"The new Bicester Community Hospital will provide a much-needed and essential service for the local area working in close partnership with NHS Oxfordshire to deliver start-of-the-art facilities."
Mr Coe says their aim is to build a hospital that is fit for purpose, easy and cost effective to build and maintain, and a pleasure to look at and visit.
