Reading Roads Get Resurfaced

21 September 2012, 06:00

25 roads in Reading are getting resurfaced as part of a £350,000 investment by the council.

The programme to improve main roads over the summer has finished with work now starting on residential ones.

Works begin on Friday September 21 and runs until Thursday October 4. Any lining work which remains will then be carried out during the first few days of October.

Tony Page, Reading's Lead Councillor for Regeneration, Transport and Planning, said: 'This is £350,000 investment on residential streets in Reading and follows on from the £800,000 already spent earlier this year on the annual major road resurfacing programme.

"It brings the total investment in better road surfaces for Reading's residents, and all road users, to more than £1.1 million."

Letters will be delivered to all affected residents seven days before the resurfacing is due to start in their roads. Advanced warning signs will go up a week before works start.

All works will start at 08:00 and should finish by 17:30. Go to the Reading Borough Council website for a full list of the closures.
