Reading Roadworks Starting

An £845,000 resurfacing programme's started in Reading to coincide with the summer holidays.
Reading Borough Council's sent out letters to residents warning them the work should last for 6 weeks with temporary road closures planned.
Extensive resurfacing of London Road is included in this year's programme. A full list of road closures are below.
Westwood Glen (Tilehurst Ward). Starts Monday 23 July and is expected to last for 2 days. Working hours will be 8am to 8pm. A full road closure will be required and a signed diversion route will be in operation for the duration.
Bath Road - Sections from Southcote Lane to Parkside Road (Southcote Ward). Starts Tuesday 24 July and is expected to last for 2 days. Working hours will be 9.30am to 3.30pm. Temporary Traffic Lights will be in operation whilst the work is carried out.
Grovelands Road - Sections from Water Road to Brisbane Road (Norcot Ward). Starts Wednesday 25 July and is expected to last for 2 days. Working hours will be 8am to 8pm. The majority of the work will be carried out under Temporary Traffic Lights but a road closure will be required when resurfacing the Water Road roundabout.
Berkeley Avenue - St Saviours Road to Littlecote Drive (Minster Ward). Starts Thursday 26 July and is expected to last for 5 days. Working hours will be 8am to 8pm. A full road closure will be required and a signed diversion route will be in operation for the duration. No work will take place over the weekend and the road will be open at this time.
Hemdean Road - Church Street to Rectory Road (Caversham Ward). Work carried out on Sunday 29 July and the working hours will be 8am to 8pm. A full road closure will be required and a signed diversion route will be in operation for the duration.
Tilehurst Road - Honey End Lane to Pegs Green Close, joints only (Norcot Ward). Starts on Monday 30 July and is expected last to for 3 days. Working hours will 8am to 8pm. A full road closure will be required and a signed diversion route will be in operation for the duration.
Southcote Road (Minster Ward). The works will start on Tuesday 31 July and is expected to last for 3 days. Working hours will be 8am to 8pm. A full road closure will be required and a signed diversion route will be in operation for the duration.
Southcote Road / Tilehurst Road junction (Battle & Minster Wards). The work will take place on Wednesday 1 August and the working hours will be 9.30am to 3.30pm. Temporary Traffic Lights will be in operation whilst the work is carried out.
Coley Avenue - Sections from Bath Road to Upavon Drive (Minster Ward). The work will start on Thursday 2 August and is expected last to for 3 days. Working hours will be 8am to 8pm. A full road closure will be required and a signed diversion route will be in operation for the duration. No work will take place over the weekend and the road will be open at this time.
Gosbrook Road - George Street to Briants Avenue (Caversham Ward). Work starts Saturday 4 August and is expected to last for 2 days. Working hours will be 8am to 8pm. A full road closure will be required and a signed diversion route will be in operation for the duration.
Norcot Road - Sections from Church End Lane to Pottery Road (Tilehurst / Kentwood Wards). The work will start on Monday 6 August and is expected to last for 2 days. Working hours will be 9.30am to 3.30pm. The majority of the work will be carried out under temporary traffic signals but it will be necessary to close the road for a short period when resurfacing by the pinch point. During this time a signed diversion route will be in operation.
Liebenrood Road - Sections from Bath Road to Inglewood Court (Southcote Ward). The work will take place on Wednesday 8 August and the working hours will be 8am to 8pm. A full road closure will be required and a signed diversion route will be in operation for the duration.
Bath Road - Sections from Benyon Court to Lima Court (Minster Ward). The work will start on Thursday 9 August and is expected to last for 2 days. The working hours will be 8am to 8pm. Temporary Traffic Lights and lane closures will be in operation whilst the work is carried out.
London Road - Cemetery Junction to A329 roundabout (Park Ward). The work will start on Saturday 11 August and is expected to last for 5 days. The working hours will be 10am to 8pm on the Saturday and then 8am to 8pm for the remaining 4 days. A full road closure will be required and a signed diversion route will be in operation for the duration.
Henley Road - Grosvenor Road to Westfield Road (Caversham / Thames Wards). Starts Wednesday 15 August and is expected to last for 4 days. The working hours will be 10am to 8pm on the Wednesday and then 8am to 8pm for the remaining 3 days. A full road closure will be required and a signed diversion route will be in operation for the duration.
Oakley Road - Hemdean Road to Kidmore Road (Thames Wards). Starts Monday 20 August and is expected to last for 2 days. The working hours will be 8am to 8pm. A full road closure will be required and a signed diversion route will be in operation for the duration.
Kidmore Road / Tokers Green Lane / Shepherds Lane junction. The work will start on Tuesday 21 August and is expected to last for 2 days. The working hours will be 8am to 8pm. A full road closure will be required and a signed diversion route will be in operation for the duration.
Whitley Wood Road - Hartland Road to Staverton Road (Church Ward). Starts Tuesday 28 August and is expected to last for 2 days. The working hours will be 8am to 8pm. A full road closure will be required and a signed diversion route will be in operation for the duration.
