Firefighters have rescued a mum and baby from a bungalow in Ascot after a car crashed into their bedroom.

Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue were called to the house just before 8am, Nov 22, by the woman's father who had climbed out through a kitchen window after the vehicle hit.

Firefighters and ambulance crew had to tunnel through the wreckage of the partially-collapsed bungalow to find them.

The were trapped under the front of the car and the bed. They have been taken to hospital but are not seriously injured.

Ascot Station Manager Adam Stevens has described it as a 'miraculous escape'.

A 31-year-old man was arrested in Virginia Water in Surrey this morning on suspicion of drink-driving and dangerous driving and he remains in custody at this time.
