A fire involving cylinders and two building in the Horton area of Slough left flights into Heathrow diverted

Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service have told Heart around 45 firefighters were called out to Foundary Lane in the Horton area of Slough at 10.53am on 28th September 2013.

The fire was affecting 2 large single storey buildings, believed to be private storage, with one of them containing more than 10 propane and 1 acetylene cylinders.

The fire was brought under control by the afternoon with firefighters following procedure to cool and monitor cylinders - into the early hours of Sunday.

The smoke plume meant Heathrow had diverted one of it's flight paths for incoming flights in the area.

The fire service tell us it is too early to tell cause of fire, but an investigation will be carried out.
