Images of Great British rowers, both past and present, will be beamed on to Windsor Castle to mark the Olympic rowing competition.
The four-night light show, running from 9.45pm to 11.59pm until Saturday, is to celebrate the rowing competition at Eton Dorney in Buckinghamshire, which expects have 25,000 spectators each day.
The rowers will be seen in action or in shots which show their energy and determination.
London 2012 chairman Lord Coe said he was "delighted'' the landmark was acting as a backdrop to the rowing competition.
