Big Name Stores for Torquay

Massive new stores are expected to open in Torquay.

Mayor Nick Bye has told Heart developers are in talks with such stores about opening up in Union Street.

But he is keeping quite about who it will be: "a department store or a major anchor store - big name - but also space for smaller independent shops. So it is very exciting times. We know that developers are in coversations with some very big names in the retail world"

He continued "I've seen some interesting sketches and concepts of what might go there and I think its hugely exciting to have a major food retailer in the town centre rather than out of town shopping"
