Drink Drive Clampdown Across Wales

There are calls for all of us to take responsibility and stop friends and family from drink driving.

It's as all four Welsh police forces start their winter campaign.

For the next month they will be pulling drivers over and carrying out breath tests.

The crackdown is being backed by Dr Mark Boulcott from Pembrokeshire.

He lost his wife and was left disabled after a drunk driver crashed into his motorbike.

He wants to see everyone do their part to discourage drink driving - and wishes someone had stopped the man who changed his life forever.

He said: "There was a number of opportunities - friends and family - to stop this lad from getting in that car that day. They knew the rules and the law. That whole accident could have been prevented.

"Just one person saying 'really, do we need to go. Is this sensible, is this safe? Lets enjoy ourselves locally rather than getting in a car'".
