Alcohol warning over hidden calories

Eight out of ten people in Wales have no idea how many calories are in alcoholic drinks according to a charity.

Alcohol Concern Wales wants drinks to be labelled to tell us how many calories are in them to try and stop people gaining weight.

Their research shows a tenth of our daily intake of calories now come from drinking.

Wales spokesman Andrew Misell said:

"A pint of high strength lager could have as much energy in it as a small baguette and a packet of crisps.

"You might drink three pints of lager - you wouldn't sit down and eat three baguettes."
