Police Raid Properties in Colwyn Bay

North Wales Police have raided 5 properties in Colwyn Bay.

26 officers were involved in the operation, including detectives from the CID office and a dog handler.

DCI Emma Gardner told Heart:

"Since the beginning of April we've had a number of burglaries in the Colwyn Bay area.  Because of intelligence and information that we've received - we've decided to execute a number of search warrants in the Colwyn Bay area to try and recover stolen property, reassure the public that we are doing something and gather further intelligence to lead us to other offenders."

Arrest

A police spokesperson confirmed that a number of items have been recovered as a result of the raids.  They are now being checked to see whether they are stolen goods.

A 22 year old man was arrested on suspicion of possessing class B drugs.  He is currently in custody awaiting questioning.

Further Support

DCI Emma Gardner said that police will continue to patrol the area to reassure local people.

"We will work very closely with the community.  If they require any information or assistance they should not hesitate to contact North Wales Police.  We are here and we will listen to any concerns that they have".
