Man Arrested After Bilston Shopkeeper Stabbing

A man has been arrested after a shopkeeper was left with serious injuries following a stabbing at a wine store in Bilston.
A 42-year-old remains in custody on suspicion of attempted murder pending further inquiries by local police.
Officers were called to Atwal Wines on Bilston Road on Sunday night, shortly before 9.40pm, following reports of a stabbing.
The shopkeeper, 51, was treated for the multiple wounds he obtained on site, before being taken to hospital with serious injuries which are not believed to be life threatening.
After launching an investigation on Tuesday evening, Inspector Phil Asquith said: "We have arrested a local man and continue to appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time of the attack to come forward."
Police are asking people with information that could help with inquiries to contant Wolverhampton's Violent Crime Team on 101. Alternatively people can leave information anonymously by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
The victim continues to be treated for his injuries in hospital.
