A man's been arrested after families in Warwickshire got calls saying a family member had died.

Warwickshire Police investigated after eight calls were made to families in the Bedworth area on June 6 and 7.

The families were told a relative had died and that they should go to George Eliot Hospital in Nuneaton.

They say a 27-year-old suspect has been arrested at his home in Bedworth and released on police bail until August 4, pending further inquiries.

Detective Constable Michelle Russell, from Warwickshire Police, said: "Hoax calls of this nature are understandably extremely distressing for those on the receiving end but thanks to the public and the media for sharing this appeal, we have been able to secure an arrest.''
