Man Charged For Black Country Hit And Run
John Thomason stands accused of two counts of attempted murder, driving whilst disqualified and using a motor vehicle without insurance.
The unemployed 24-year-old from Erdington, will appear before Walsall and Aldridge Magistrates Court today.
Thomason was arrested on Monday night, along with a 17-year-old girl, in connection with a collision on Hednesford Road in Brownhills in the early hours on Sunday 10 August.
Two men were taken to hospital following the crash, which saw a white van mount the pavement near to the Thai Lanna restaurant.
The van was later recovered in Kingstanding.
One man is still in hospital with serious injuries, while the other man was treated and released for minor injuries following the collision.
The teenage girl, who was also arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, has been released on police bail pending further enquiries, along with two men, aged 30 and 23, who were arrested on Sunday night.
