Police have been given more time to question a man on suspicion of murder after a woman was found dead in a burnt out car in Erdington.
Officers responded to a call of a parked car on fire on Fentham Road at 8:30pm.
A 34-year-old has been arrested in connection with her death.
He remains in police custody for further questioning after police have been given extra-time from magistrates to question him.
The woman is yet to be formally identified, and a post mortem will take place this afternoon to determine her cause of death.
Detective Inspector Warren Hines from West Midlands Police’s Criminal Investigation Department, said: "This complex investigation continues and I would like to reassure the community that an arrest has been made and we are not looking for anyone else in connection with this matter.”
