A soldier is going to stand trial for the murder of a corporal found dead at the barracks they shared in Shropshire.
Lance Corporal Richard Farrell, who served with the 1st Battalion The Royal Irish Regiment, is alleged to have killed Corporal Geoffrey McNeill in in March this year.
Cpl McNeill was found dead in an accommodation block at Clive Barracks in Tern Hill, near Market Drayton, shortly after 9am on Saturday March 8.
A court spokesman said Farrell, 23, entered his not-guilty plea at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court and will face trial at Birmingham Crown Court on September 29.
