Teenager Charged After Shirley Crash

A teenager has been charged with causing the death of a man and seriously injuring his grandson in a collision in Solihull.

19-year-old Kirpal Sokhi, of Tetley Road, Hall Green is accused of causing the death of 60-year-old Stephen Beckett by dangerous driving. 

He is also charged with causing serious injury to Mr Beckett's 9-year-old grandson by driving dangerously and using a vehicle without insurance. 

He is accused of being the driver of a £105,000 Range Rover when it was in collision with a Vauxhall Astra van on Bills Lane, Shirley, at approximately 2:30pm on 17th August 2014.

He is due to appear before Birmingham Magistrates' Court on 21st November 2014.
