Witness appeal following burglary in Swindon Wiltshire Police is appealing for information following a burglary in Swindon.
The incident took place in the early hours of yesterday morning (Thursday 13th March 2014)at a house in Kennet Avenue, Greenmeadow, Swindon.
Suspects broke into the garage of a house owned by a 83-year-old man and stole four vintage motorbikes.
The bikes date back to 1954 and the elderly victim had spent years restoring them.
Following subsequent enquiries, one bike was located with a small amount of damage nearby and two bikes were found burnt out.
One bike, a 1962 grey NSU Quickly moped is still missing.
PCSO Emma Harriman from Wiltshire Police said:
'This is clearly very upsetting for the owner of the bikes who has spent a number of years lovingly restoring them.
'To have found out that two of the bikes had been burnt out and destroyed has really upset him.
'I am hoping that someone out there in our community has information on this incident and may know where this final bike is.
'I would urge anyone with information to come forward and speak to us immediately.'
