Swindon: Man Charged With Causing Death By Dangerous Driving

A driver has been charged following a fatal road traffic collision in Swindon.
The incident took place on May 25th 2014 on Thamesdown Drive, Swindon, when a Vauxhall Astra collided with a Nissan Almera close to the entrance of the Orbital Shopping Centre.
As a result of the crash, the passenger of the Almera, Paul Winters, 33, from Swindon, died from his injuries.
The driver of the Almera, a 61 year old male from Swindon, sustained serious injuries. He has subsequently been released from hospital.
As a result of police enquiries, Arnie Peter Rogers, 23, of Saltash Road, Swindon, has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving, causing death by driving without licence/insurance or whilst disqualified and causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
He has been released on bail and is due to appear at Swindon Magistrates Court on September 17th 2014.
No further action will be taken against a second man who was arrested at the time of the collision.
