A new volunteer recruitment website has launched to give people considering volunteering in Wiltshire to find out more about what they can do.

The website highlights the types of volunteering, local volunteer stories and ways to get involved and is in direct response to the challenges which charities face in finding volunteers across the county.

It allows free volunteering opportunity advertising for all not-for-profit organisations, including charities, community groups and social enterprises.

Any role can be added to Volunteer Centre Wiltshire's database and the website is free to use by anyone.

Simone Lord, Volunteer Centre Manager said: ''The driving force behind the website came from a desire to give volunteers a clear and simple means of accessing information about volunteering, and a central place for community groups to post their vacant opportunities. This will support the thousands of local residents who are eager to volunteer their skills.''

Volunteer Centre Wiltshire is part of local charity Develop Enhancing Community Support, they regularly support volunteers to find volunteering opportunities in their local communities.
