Cannabis find in Liverpool

Two men and a woman have been arrested after £500,000 worth of cannabis was found on Merseyside.

Officers also discovered £60,000 in cash at the house in the Netheron area of Liverpool.

Officers seized what is believed to have been 100kgs of Cannabis resin with an estimated street value of £500,000 and around £60,000 in cash, which was hidden under the floorboards of the stairwell.

The two men, aged 58 and 38, and the 49-year-old woman, all from the Netherton area, were arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of drugs and money laundering.

Chief Inspector Zoe Thornton said: "This was an excellent result and thanks to community intelligence we have been able to take a significant amount of drugs off the streets of Merseyside.

"We take all reports of illegal drugs activities in communities extremely seriously and will take robust action to put an end to the criminal behaviour of those involved in the drugs trade.

"We will seek to bring offenders to justice by putting them behind bars and stop them from bringing misery to the lives of other residents."

Anyone with any information about drugs in their area can call Merseyside Police on 0151 709 6010, or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
