eFit released after Birkenhead attack

Detectives have released an eFitof a man they want to speak to in connection with a sexual assault in Birkenhead.

It happened six months ago when an 18-year-old woman was attacked on Green Lane in the early hours of the morning near the Wickes DIY store.

A man approached the woman on a scooter and tried to talk to her.  Police say she ignored him and carried on walking, at which point he tried to put his arm around her, then pulled her into a smaller car park at the side of the store and sexually assaulted her.

The woman was helped by a taxi driver who saw the victim by the side of the road.

The victim, who is still recovering from her ordeal six months ago on Saturday, October 24, has been working with detectives to put together an eFit resembling her attacker.

He is a white man, aged in his mid 20s, between 5ft 8 and 5ft 10ins tall, of stocky build with a round face, a shaven head and narrow eyes. He was wearing a sandy-coloured camouflage jacket at the time of the attack. There is no description of the scooter.

Anyone with information is asked to call Birkenhead CID on 0151 777 2264 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
