Families call for longer jail terms

A mum who campaigns for tougher prison sentences after her daughter was murdered will take her message to the Crime Minister on Thursday.

Jean Taylor from Greasby in Wirral set up Families Fighting for Justice after losing her daughter Chantelle.

On Thursday evening she will meet Nick Herbert MP in London to urge him to make sure life means life for people found guilty of murder.

Jean said:

"To have your loved ones life taken by the hands of another is bad enough.

"How would you feel if you walked out of court and the judge has only handed down a sentence of 8 or 10 years?"
