'Norovirus' outbreak at Arrow Park Hospital

Visiting has been suspended at Arrow Park Hospital due to the sickness bug Norovirus.

Following an outbreak of Norovirus. the decision has been made to temporarily suspend visiting in the main building at Arrowe Park.

However The Wirral Women and Children's Hospital remains unaffected.

A Spokesman for the hospital said:

"Whilst we understand that this may cause some upset to patients and their visitors, previous experience has shown that the suspension of visiting is a very effective means of containing and helping to eradicate this highly infectious virus.

"Although this suspension applies to all patient areas Matrons and Ward Managers may, of course, use their discretion in allowing exceptions in situations in which they feel it appropriate."

The situation will be reviewed on Monday 1st August.
