Strike at Liverpool John Lennon Airport

It's 'business as usual' at Liverpool John Lennon Airport despite baggage handler's striking.

Servisair the company who run the handling - are walking out over compulsory redundancies.

Passengers are being told flights wont be affected and to turn up to the terminal as normal.

Servisair has reassured the airport that there are robust contingency plans already in place that will ensure passengers flying with those airlines supported by Servisair at JLA will not be inconvenienced during this dispute and are advised to turn up for their flights as normal.

A number of committed Servisair staff have agreed to continue to work despite the plans for industrial action, to ensure all travelling passengers are not affected.

Paul Staples, Airport Director at JLA said:

"Naturally we are disappointed that this planned industrial action appears to be going ahead, however the reassurances we have been given by Servisair means that we expect the passengers of the airlines that use Servisair, will be able to fly to and from Liverpool without disruption."
