Fire At Peterborough School 'Deliberate'

Fire crews say a fire at Peterborough High School was started deliberately.

Four fire crews were called to a fire at Peterborough High School, Westwood House, Thorpe Road, at around 3.40am, this morning.

The ground floor of a two-storey building separate to the main school that houses a common room and library was on fire.

Six firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used two hose reels, three jets and positive pressure ventilation fans to extinguish the fire by 5.21am.

Crews returned to their stations by 6am.

The cause of the fire is believed to be deliberate.
