Man Charged With Newmarket Murder

A man has been charged with murder after the death of a man following an incident in Newmarket in December.

Officers were called at around 9.55pm on Saturday 27 December, to reports of a man found on the pavement who had sustained head injuries after falling to the ground in
High Street, near to the junction with The Avenue.
 
The man sadly died in hospital on Tuesday (13 January) and has been named as Adrian Williams, 51, from Soham.
 
Peter Crotty, 33, of Nimbus Way, Newmarket, was originally charged with causing grievous bodily harm. Following the death of Mr Williams, he has now been charged with
murder and will appear at Bury St Edmunds Magistrates court this morning (15 January).
