Peterborough: Number Plate Crackdown

Nearly 100 drivers have been stopped on suspicion of criminal offenses in Peterborough in just one day.

Yesterday (Monday 31 March) 99 people were pulled over by police as part of Operation Sentinel.

The scheme runs every 6-8 weeks in various locations across Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Heartfordshire and connects number plates to criminal offenses.

12 people were arrested for a number of offenses including possession of a class B drug with intent to supply and on suspicion of going equipped.
