Arrest After Luton Attempted Abduction

A 32 year-old man has been arrested after a woman was bundled into a car in Luton early on Saturday morning.

Bedfordshire Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a 30 year-old woman was dragged from her vehicle in Handcross Road in Luton early on Saturday morning (July 5).

It  happened at around 6.05am when the victim was getting into her vehicle, on her way to work. The offender, who is known to the victim, dragged her from her vehicle, forcing her into his own. The woman screamed which alerted a neighbour, who came to her assistance.

A 32 year-old man was arrested but police are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen the vehicle, a black Ford Galaxy between 6am on the A505 Luton and 745am on the A1 northbound at Astwick.

Police say they believe it may have been using false number plates and may have been displaying the registration plate EO58 VFT or FG09 POA.
