A man invited to a neighbour's barbecue sexually assaulted a 12 year old girl, Luton Crown Court heard today.
Michael Bussue, a 48 year old married man, was alone with the girl in the lounge when the assault happened.
He touched the girl's breast over her clothing on the sofa.
He had earlier appeared for sentence and had been found guilty of sexually assaulting a child under 13.
Miss Pamela Brain defending said he had no previous convictions and had been unemployed for two years.
The judge said it was a low level sexual assault of a child that merited a prison sentence.
He said the defendant "appeared unrepentant."
Mr Bussue was sentenced to six months imprisonment, suspended for 12 months, with 12 months supervision and 100 hours of unpaid work.
The judge also made a Sexual Offences Prevention Order which forbids Mr Bussue having any contact with the victim and from seeking any employment with children under 16.
