Woman Attacked In Own Car

Bedfordshire Police are looking for witnesses after a woman in her twenties was attacked in her car at around 6.20pm on Friday 17 December, 2010 as she warmed up the engine in Park Avenue, Bedford near the junction with De Parys Avenue.

The woman had parked her car in Park Avenue, near the junction with De Parys Avenue, and was sitting in it waiting for the engine to warm up. The offender got in the passenger side of the car and attacked her. She defended herself and the offender got out of the car and made off on foot towards Robinson Pool.

The offender is described as white, lean and slim, in his early thirties, with very dark eye brows. He was wearing a beige beaney hat, a yellow hi-vis jacket with grey stripes, beige gloves and blue jeans.

Detective Constable Andrew Boston said: “This was a vicious assault which has left the victim very shaken and with minor injuries. This is a busy part of Bedford and we are looking for anyone who saw this man either before the attack in the Park Avenue, Bedford Park area or afterwards in the Robinson Pool area.

“The attacker was wearing a distinctive high visibility jacket with grey stripes and a beige beaney hat and beige gloves. You can easily help us to identify and catch this man before he commits another attack by calling me on 01234 275328 or contact Crime stoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
