A 37 year old man has been charged with two stabbings in Stevenage on Saturday.

Gary Rolfe, of no fixed address, is accused of causing grievous bodily harm (GBH) to two men at the King George Playing Fields.

Police were called just before 6pm on Saturday (7th June) the air ambulance was also called and the men were taken to hospital with injuries not believed to be life threatening.

Its thought the three men involved knew each other and the stabbings happened after a dispute.

Police are not connecting it to the EDL and TUC march in the town earlier that day.

Rolfe was at Hatfield Remand Court yesterday and has been kept in custody.

He'll appear at Cambridge Crown Court on Monday 16th June.
