Police Search For Porsche Driver After Fatal A6 Crash

A serious collision shut the A6 Saturday night near Bedford, near Wixams.
Police in Bedfordshire are looking for the driver of a black Porsche who left the scene of a fatal accident on the A6.
The crash at the Wixams, south of Bedford, left the driver of an black Audi A8 seriously injured. The 33-year-old man was taken to Bedford hospital where his death was confirmed.
It happened at ten to six on Saturday evening on the southbound carriageway. and involved a black Audi R8 and a black Porsche 911.
Beds police say the driver of the Porsche did not stop and carried on driving away from the scene heading north towards Bedford along the A6. Officers are appealing to the public to help trace this person and the vehicle.
The Ambulance and Fire Service also attended the scene and the southbound carriageway was closed for several hours while specialist officers completed a full collision investigation.
Police Sergeant Stefanie Crichton, of the BCH Roads Policing Unit, said: "The A6 is a busy main road which runs through the centre of the county from north to south. I would appeal to other motorists who were using this road on Saturday night to report any sightings of a black Porsche. I would also urge anyone who has information relating to the driver of this vehicle to contact officers as soon as possible."
