Woman Dies After M1 Crash

A 36-year-old woman was killed and several other people were seriously hurt in a pile up on the M1 motorway in Bedfordshire early this morning.

Five cars and a motorbike collided on the northbound carriageway between Luton and Flitwick at around half past five.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The East of England Ambulance Service took six people to Luton and Dunstable Hospital, three of whom were elderly people said to be suffering from serious and life threatening injuries.
