Artists impression of new Chatham bus stationLeader of Medway Council Cllr Rodney Chambers, said: “The appointment of Morgan Sindall as main contractor represents important progress for Chatham.  It means we can now press ahead with getting this superb new bus station up and running by next year. That’s the deadline because our central government funding for the project is time-limited.”

He added: “Even though the programme currently indicates an overrun beyond 31st of March we are using every endeavour to bring the project in on time."

The canopies over the bus station will have a 'living' green sedum roof and there will be tall glass screen around the stop to protect people from the weather.
