Ashford: Police Want To Find This Man
22 May 2014, 11:37
Police investigating some suspicious incidents where a man in a white van has approached children in Ashford, have released two e-fit images of a man they would like to trace.
Detectives are linking three recent incidents:
Two incidents in Bybrook Road and Beecholme Drive between 4.45 pm and 6.40 pm on Tuesday 29 April.
A further incident in Manor House Drive in Kingsnorth, Ashford at around 4.30 pm on Thursday 8 May.
In the incidents above the man has approached an 8-year-old boy; two 8-year-old girls and a group of children. He started talking to them and told them to get in his van, but none of the children has been touched or harmed.
Detective Sergeant Andrew Bidmead said: ‘We’ve made a number of enquiries and are following a number of leads and would like to hear from anyone who may be able to identify the man in the e-fit images.
‘Fortunately children are taught about the ‘stranger danger’ and how to stay safe and have reacted very sensibly to these incidents by saying ‘No’ and running to tell an adult they can trust.
Anyone who can identify the suspect from the images or has any information is asked to contact Detective Inspector Andrew Bidmead or Detective Constable Gemma Crouch on 101 or 01303 289413.
