Vandals Snap New Trees in Chatham

Police have condemned whoever damaged more than a dozen new trees that had just been planted in part of Chatham.

Some officers who were patrolling Shipwright's Avenue in the town noticed that the trees had all been snapped.

It's thought it happened sometime between 7.30pm and 10.30pm on Friday night (23rd April).

Neighbourhood Officer PC Rebecca Roch said:  "All of the trees were newly planted and have been snapped by someone who has used considerable force. 
"Kent Police will not tolerated this kind of mindless vandalism so would urge anyone with information about this damage to come forward. 
"We have spoken to a number of residents in the area but would like to hear from anyone who saw people causing the damage."
