A man from Dartford has appeared in court charged with the murder of a young mother whose body was found in a burning car.

Joshua Caird, 26, from Dartford, Kent, is accused of killing 26-year-old Donna Eastwood last weekend, Kent Police said.

Officers found her body in a blazing vehicle in Rowhill Road, Dartford, during the early hours of Saturday.

Caird was arrested on Sunday. He has been charged and appeared at Medway Magistrates' Court, police said.

He was remanded in custody and will next appear at Maidstone Crown Court on Thursday.

A statement released by Miss Eastwood's family following her death, said: "Donna was a loving mother and will always be mummy and daddy's little angel.

"All her family loved her and life will not be the same without her.

"Thank you to all her friends for their kind words.''

Kent Police are still appealing for anyone with information about the vehicle fire to call them on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
